Planet with two Suns

Its_gora

A giant and frigid planet that enjoys double sunsets as it circles two stars has been spotted in the northern skies.
Astronomers said the planet, named Kepler-16b, marked the first unambiguous discovery of a world in orbit around two stars – an oddity made famous by the planet Tatooine in Star Wars.
The planet, which lies about 200 light years from Earth and has a similar mass to Saturn, was observed by Nasa's Kepler spacecraft as it passed in front of its twin suns, causing light from the stars to dim.
The unusual arrangement means that an observer on the planet's surface, where temperatures range from -70C to -100C, would see two small suns rise and set together, and on occasion appear as one as they passed in front of each other.

The amazing baobab (Adansonia) or monkey bread tree can grow up to nearly 100 feet (30 m) tall and 35 feet (11 m) wide. Their swollen trunks are actually water storage – the baobab tree can store as much as 31,700 gallon (120,000) of water to endure harsh drought conditions.
Baobab trees are native to Madagascar (it’s the country’s national tree!), mainland Africa, and Australia. All parts of this amazing tree are useful. The young leaves are used as condiments and medicines. The large gourd-like, woody fruit contains a tasty pulp. Also called “monkey bread”, it is rich in vitamin C. The bark produces a strong fibre which is locally used for making rope and cloth.

Mature trees are often hollow and provide living space for humans and animals. The baobab figures as the Tree of life in the film Lion King.
For most of the year, the tree is leafless and looks like it has its roots sticking up in the air. According to the legend, the devil uprooted it, thrust its branches into the earth, and left its roots in the air. There are also numerous superstitions regarding powers of the tree.

Wood Becomes Stone

Its_gora
Arizona's Petrified Forest is not a forest at all. It is a hauntingly beautiful landscape filled with magnificent specimens of petrified wood. Petrified wood is a wood that has turned into stone. How did this happen? Millions of years ago, the forests covering Northern arizona were buried under a sea of mud, sand, volcanic ash, and and the pressure over a period of time turned the wood into stone, to create a forest of  Stone Trees!!

A remarkable fish story

Its_gora
One day  Mr. Walter Ker, a New Zelander threw a mussel, which is a type of shell fish into sea. A fish known as a snapper grabbed it and swam away. Soon this became a regular practice, and Mr. ker would feed the snapper every day. Before long, other snappers joined the first as they learned that free food was being handed out each day at the same time, at the same spot. What is more, they would even allow Mr. ker to stroke their backs and lift them out of the water!!!!!!
Isn't it remarkable?

Highest Number of Passengers in an Aeroplane

Its_gora
That the record for most number of passengers on an aeroplane was created way back in 1991, when 1,120 people boarded a Boeing 747 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia??
That was during operation Solomon, when  Ethiopian Jews were evacuated to Israel..
Records show that 1,087 passengers were registered..
The flight was supposed to carry 760 passengers, but they were so thin that more could be squeezed in; while many children hide in their mother's robes..
With two babies being born during the flight; 1,122 people stepped off the plane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a record!! Ha, Ha!
